Malvern visit

Had a fascinating visit to Malvern yesterday where I spoke about Imperial Exile to a large audience from the Malvern Civic Society. There was much interest in Emperor Haile Selassie’s trip to Malvern in April 1938 to visit two of his granddaughters who were studying at Clarendon School in the town. I also discovered this rare photo in the local library taken by the Malvern Gazette during the Emperor’s visit. With him are his daughter Princess Tenagnework and her two daughters, Hirut and Seble.
